Faithfully reproducing the sewing specifications of an era when lockstitch machines were the mainstream and chain stitch and overlock machines were not yet widespread, the 1920s are famous for being the time when belt loops first started appearing on pants. However, many pants from this era feature remnants of suspender buttons and cinch belts.
In the 1920s, workers would carefully continue wearing their pants by attaching leftover fabric from hemming to the back pockets as reinforcement. This work pant recreates this detail, incorporating reinforcement fabric on the back pockets as a design element to evoke the feeling of that era.
